Ms. Dennis has been working hard as a new member of the West Virginia Dance Company with Co-Directors, Toneta Akers-Toler and Donald Laney. The 2009/2010 season started in late August with about 5 weeks of daily rehearsals to set the school program which includes an hour of choreography. Nine pieces are performed and each represents a continent and its people, environmental and/or culture. She is honored to perform the solo representing South America, which is choreographed by Dr. Eluza Maria Santos from Brazil. Angela and her fellow dancers also had the opportunity to work with Gerri Houlihan in September when she traveled to Beckley, WV, to set her American Masterpiece titled, "4x4," on WVDC. The Company has been touring West Virginia performing public concerts, guest artist appearances, and their school program, "Around the World and Back Again." WVDC reaches an average of 50,000 kids or more each year with this highly educational artistic showcase that provide study guide materials and lesson plans for teachers to build the performance into the students' curriculum. The remainder of this season includes traveling to Fort Bragg, NC, to perform for schools on base, continuing to tour the state for countless educational performances, public concerts, and much more! Angela is happy to be learning and growing due to the artists she is surrounded by in the WVDC family
